General Dunwoody was the first woman in the military to achieve a four-star rank, receiving her fourth star in 2008. The daughter of Brigadier General Harold H. Dunwoody, she graduated from SHAPE American High School in 1971.

US AIR FORCE
Born in Washington, D.C., Benjamin O. Davis Jr. was an army brat whose father set a challenging example for him. The elder Davis became a brigadier general in 1940, the U.S. Army’s first black general.
The younger Davis paralleled his father’s illustrious career. He graduated from West Point in 1936 and began his military career at Fort Benning in Georgia. In 1942, he joined the Army Air Corps and took command of the 99th Fighter Squadron, the famous Tuskegee Airmen, as a lieutenant colonel.
Davis, known for his dignified manner and eloquent speech, became the first black brigadier general in the history of the U.S. Air Force in 1954. In 1965, he rose to the rank of lieutenant general. Lt. General Davis retired in 1970, and in 1998 he was advanced to four-star General by President Bill Clinton.

General Donald G. Cook graduated from Paris American High School in 1965.
He is a graduate of Michigan State University. From 2001 to 2005 he was Commander, Air Education and Traing Command at Randolph AFB, TX. General Cook retired on August 1, 2005, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. of Ft. Worth. (Updated Nov 2005)

General Douglas MacArthur’s father, Arthur MacArthur, was also a distinguished Army general. The younger MacArthur, a graduate of TMI, The Episcopal School of Texas in San Antonio, TX, graduated first in his class at West Point in 1903.

Born in Anchorage in the Territory of Alaska in 1958, General Vincent K. Brooks grew up an Army brat in California and Virginia, the son of Major General Leo A. Brooks Sr. He was West Point’s first African-American Cadet Brigade Commander, the highest position a cadet can hold, and he graduated first in his class in 1980.
Among other notable command and staff positions, Brooks served as Deputy Director of Operations at United States Central Command (CENTCOM); Deputy Director for the War on Terrorism in The Joint Staff; Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific; and commanded United States Forces Korea, United Nations Command.

Faulkner was born in October 1965 at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, Georgia. Her father, retired Lieutenant Colonel Bob Harris, a United States Army officer and Army Aviator, was stationed at the base and had served three tours in Vietnam.
