Quarterback Danny Wuerffel won the Heisman Trophy in 1996 when he played for the University of Florida. He spent 7 years in the NFL and retired in New Orleans. His home and Desire Street Ministries were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Wuerffel, son of an Air Force Chaplain, is an overseas brat and alumnus. His father stated that when he was in Europe he played soccer.

Corrandi was elected the first female mayor of Salt Lake City in November of 1991. She was re-elected in November 1995. She left office in January of 2000.
She was also the President of the US Council of Mayors in 1998.
