Wally Waterstreet

January 1, 1970 - December 1, 2004

Wally left Milwaukee, WI, in 1956 to begin his career with DoDDS. His first assignments were in Scotland and England, which he loved. When asked why he left, his reply was “I wanted to see the world”?. And so he did. He had tours in Ethiopia and Libya before transferring in 1968 to the Pacific area. He remained there until his retirement in 1992, teaching in the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Okinawa. He treasured his special students that made his teaching career worthwhile.

Wally loved travel, old movies, fine food and wine, and sharing gourmet dinner parties and conversation with his friends. He had traveled to every continent, but his favorite destination was always Broadway to take in as many shows as possible. He often went several times a year, depending on what was showing, and it was not unusual for him to fit 10 -12 shows into a week’s visit.

He is greatly missed by all the lives he touched.
