Martha Rosemary Partridge McAllister was born in Pickens, South Carolina. After graduating from Lander College in 1942, she joined the United States Navy.
Martha taught in DoDDS schools for 32 years. Her assignments took her to Japan, Chinon, Berlin, Istanbul, Paris, High Wycombe and West Ruislip. While teaching in England, she met and married Sir Charles McAllister and lived in Marlow, Bucks., for many years.
Martha was an avid golfer and played until her mid-eighties. She loved to garden and was known for her beautiful and creative English and Japanese gardens.
Martha was devoted to her daily exercise and always let everyone know how important it was to “keep moving”. She loved to travel throughout the United States and Europe and had several large trips schedules at the time of her death. She was loved by many, many friends all over the world, and her enthusiasm for life will be missed by all of us.
