Marjorie D. Wells
1932 – 2003
Marjorie Doris Wells was born in New York City on July 13, 1932. She attended State University of New York in Albany where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After graduation she taught English in the Hudson Valley and in East Rochester, New York, before accepting her first assignment with DoDDS in 1961. She was a school counselor at Aschaffenburg, Germany, for 6 years. In 1967 she began a 3-year assignment teaching Jr. High English and Social Studies at Hanau. In 1970 she took a leave of absence to obtain her Master of Library Science degree at Syracuse University. Returning to Germany in 1971, she was the librarian and media specialist at Darmstadt Elementary and Middle school until her retirement in 1993. She passed away in upstate New York on June 22, 2003.
