James (Jim) Rolland Creighton

August 24, 1923 - April 12, 2008

JIm was born in Galesburg, IL, on August 24, 1923. After graduating from Galesburg HS in 1943 he enlisted in the Navy and was in command of an LST in the Pacific.

After the war, Jim graduated from Colorado College in 1947 and went on to Western Illinois for his advanced degree in counseling. He taught high school English in Moline, IL from 1960 to 1966.

His first overseas assignment was at Stuttgart High School as counselor. From there he went to the Philippines, then back to Germany to Karlsruhe, Bad Kreuznach and Bitburg, and finally to Iceland where he retired in 1986.
