Jim died in his beloved Naples, Italy, one week after his seventy-fifth birthday. He was buried from his neighborhood church in Naples and interred in the family gravesite of his longtime friend, Ciro Guida.
After a long career with DoDDS schools and dorms in seven locations in Asia and Europe, Jim retired in Naples – he was a true expatriate.
Known for his upbeat, bubbly personality, his enormous zest for life, his unique parties, his funny correspondence, his fresh fruit pies – among so much else that made him legend – he shall be greatly missed by many.
