Carmen Carlson graduated with the class of 1958 from Nelson C. Brown school at Nouasseur Air Base, Morocco. Carmen was a beautiful, active student who is especially remembered for the talents she displayed in the various base and touring musical presentations. She married Dillon(Duke) Ashburn around 1960. In the early years of her marriage she did some professional singing, and then raised three daughters. She lived in numerous places in the west–California, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and Hawaii. In 1996 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a long and courageous battle, she passed away on June 28, 2000 in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.

Carmen’s one reunion with her classmates was at Las Vegas in 1991. The photo accompanying this entry was taken at that event.
