Dr. Zuzana Plesa

Zuzana started her DoDDS career as an English and social studies teacher in 1969 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and moved to Misawa and Yokosuka, Japan. She left DoDDS in 1973 to pursue a master’s degree in marriage, family and child counseling at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California.

In 1976, she returned to Wurzburg High School, Germany, and worked as a teacher, counselor, and guidance director. In 1985 she became the director of the Stuttgart Education Resource Center. After the ERC closed, she assumed the role of assistant principal at Patch High School. In 1995 she moved to Lakenheath High School, England, as dorm principal and assistant principal. In 1998 she took a two year leave to participate in the doctoral program at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. She completed her doctorate in 2003. Her final DoDDS assignment took her to Mahan High School in Iceland as the assistant principal. In 2004 she retired from DoDDS and moved to Niceville, Florida.

Zuzana teaches English at Okaloosa Walton College. In addition, she works as a consultant for Healthnet on various bases throughout the United States and overseas.
