Coco Solo ES History

Coco Solo Elementary School was a kindergarten–6th grade elementary school, which was located on the Atlantic area of Panama. Coco Solo and Margarita Elementary Schools had the same principal from 1979 to their closing in 1985.

The two-story concrete school was of modern construction and was air-conditioned.

After the school became part of DoDDS in 1979, most teachers were stateside hires or transferred from other DoDDS regions.

For the 1981-82 school year, approximately 160 students attended the kindergarten through six school. The principal was Martin Hoffman. The school had services for special education, host nation, resource, English as a Second Language, media, and school nurse personnel.
