Uden American Elementary School opened in 1970. The school was located in the southeastern part of the Netherlands, about 20 miles from Einhoven. It was about three miles from the base at Volkel and was located in a complex of Dutch schools. The school was a prefabricated structure with three classrooms and a library.

In 1981 there were twenty-five students in the school. The faculty consisted of a teaching principal, one other teacher, a secretary/librarian who also served as the Host Nation teacher and a part-time supply clerk. Students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade attended the school.

By the 1986-87 school year the enrollment had increased to forty students with an additional teacher on staff.

The school was closed in 1990 and the students attended the new school in Volkel.
