Lakenheath Middle School was formerly Feltwell Middle School and Lakenheath Junior High School and was located at RAF Feltwell which was approximately nine miles from RAF Lakenheath. The Middle School is currently located in the East Anglia region of England and services the DoD families from Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell Air Bases.

The campus style school was located in twelve two-story buildings connected by tree-shaded walkways. In addition to the twenty-nine classrooms, the school utilized areas for industrial arts, music, gymnastics and sports, library and administrative offices.

During the 1965-66 school year the school was called Lakenheath Junior High School even though it was located at RAF Feltwell. The principal was Norman Ryerson and there were twenty-four faculty. The student body consisted of 142 seventh graders, 108 eighth graders and 107 ninth graders. Student sports included cheerleaders for girls and football, soccer and basketball for boys. Extracurricular activities include student council, the National Junior Honor Society and publishing the yearbook, the Lancer.

For the 1981-82 school year in addition to the twenty-nine teachers there were counselors, a reading specialist, special education teachers, a librarian, a host nation teacher, teachers’ aides and two administrators with clerical support. That year there were 689 students in grades 6–8.

By the 1987-88 school year, there were 747 middle school students housed in forty-four classrooms with forty-one teachers and three administrators. The following year the enrollment decreased to 650 students with a teaching faculty of twenty-nine and two administrators.

For the 1993-94 school year there were 660 students, thirty-seven classroom teachers, two counselors, a reading specialist, four special education teachers, a librarian, host nation teachers, four educational aides and three administrators. The next year there were 750 students and the administrative staff was increased to four.

The school mascot is the Leopard and the school colors are black and gold.

Lakenheath Middle School for the 2021-22 school year had a student population of over four hundred students. They students were grouped together in three different grade levels. The sixth grade was located in the first wing (Maroon Hall downstairs and the Purple Hall upstairs). The seventh grade was located in the second wing (Green Hall downstairs and Red Hall upstairs). The eighth grade was located in the main wing (Yellow Hall downstairs and the Blue Hall upstairs). The daily class schedule was divided into Black Days and Gold Days with a seminar class at the end of each Gold Day. Each block was 80 minutes long with four blocks in a day. Wednesday was Leopard Day where the students went to each class for thirty-eight minutes and were released at 2 p.m.
