The first yearbook for the school was for the 1972-73 school year. The yearbook was titled La Raza which means people. The school administrators were principal Mr. P. Mario Pfisterer and assistant principal Mr. Milton Alexander. That year there were 206 students in grades seven through nine and 126 middle school students—grades five and six. The school colors were black and gold. Activities at the school included student council, newspaper, yearbook, dance club, intramurals, handicrafts, and small games club.
The school colors were blue and yellow.
