Pastorius Elementary School was in the Pastorius housing area, which was about five minutes driving time from Merrell Barracks in Nuernberg. The elementary school occupied the second, third, and fourth floors of the Pastorius Club. Grades kindergarten through six attended the school.
The Pastorius School had eight classrooms, a library, a supply room, a combined art and music room, a teachers’ lounge, and a teachers’ workroom. The students had lunch at the Pastorius Club. The school staff of eight was supplemented by specialists from the Nuernberg Schools.
There were approximately 200 students in the school. The school was closed in 1992.
