Nürnberg Middle School was located in the same facility as Nürnberg High School, although the administration and programs were separate. The first year of the middle school program, Paul Finkbeiner was the principal, and Steve Provinsal was the assistant principal. Later that year, Kathy Carroll became the acting principal. The middle school had grades five through eight, and the first year there were over 1,000 students in the middle school program. Students participated in Math Counts, Math Olympiads, Geography Bee, and clubs including the newspaper, Red Cross, outdoor education, computers, and art. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and D.A.R.E. were part of the curriculum.
The school mascot was the Knight, and the colors were red and black.
For the 1993-94 school year, there were just under 400 students enrolled. For the next and final school year, the middle school was again part of the high school.
