Noervenich Elementary School was previously called Kerpen Elementary and was located in Kerpen, Germany. It was relocated to Noervenich, Germany, to a German Air Force Kaserne called Haus Hardt Kaserne. The school facility was designed and constructed by the German government and occupied by the American students in February 1985. The school was located about fifteen miles west of Cologne.

The new building, designed as a school, had five classrooms, a media center, nurse’s office, staff eating/cooking room, staff lounge, host nation teacher’s workroom, educational aide tutoring stations, and a supply room. The German Kaserne gymnasium was located adjacent to the school and was used by the school.

For the 1987-88 school year, the staff consisted of a principal, four teachers, two half-time educational aides, a half-time host nation teacher, a half-time media technician, and a secretary/supply clerk. The school received weekly support services including physical education, art, music, health/nurse, and talented and gifted specialists who came from nearby Bonn Elementary/High School and Geilenkirchen Elementary School. The Bonn Education Resource Center provided a learning development and communications specialist on a weekly and on-call basis.

The school had eighty students in grades kindergarten through six. By the 1993-94 school year, the school enrollment had fallen to thirty students and by the 1994-95 school year there were only two teachers and three part-time aides.

The school closed in 1995.
