Katterbach ES History

Katterbach American Elementary School served the dependents of the Ansbach military community. The school shared a building with Ansbach High School. The school was in the Katterbach housing area, approximately three miles from Ansbach.
The school building was completed in 1973. The elementary school had grades kindergarten through three, and the only students who attended the school where those that lived within walking distance.
For the 1981-82 school year there were eight teachers for the 240 students.
The school closed in June 1986, when the new Rainbow schools were opened.
