Leonard Wood School, Fort Stottenberg History

This was a six-room school at Ft. Stotsenberg. Ft. Stotsenberg, which became the site of Clark Air Base, was the home of the US Cavalry after Spain ceded the archipelago after Admiral Dewey’s victory over the Spanish fleet in Manila Bay. Leonard Wood school was opened in 1918 and closed in 1930. The school had students in grades 1-7 and served children of military personnel, Philippine Scouts and Filipino civilian employees.
