Lily Hill MS History

Opened: 1972
Closed: 1991

In September 1972, Lily Hill Middle School opened its doors to over 1,000 fifth and six graders. Lily Hill was one of six school operated by the Department of Defense at Clark Air Base in Pampanga Province, Island of Luzon, Republic of the Philippines. When the school opened, it had twenty-six classrooms and special facilities for music, art, home economics, industrial arts, typing, reading improvement, special education, speech, and interculture. Folding doors between twenty of the forty classrooms gave the flexibility needed for contemporary educational methods such as team teaching and open classrooms.

In 1980, the Clark schools were reorganized. Lilly Hill Middle School now served students in grades five through eight. For the 1981-82 school year, there were thirty-five educators for the 600 students.

By the late eighties, the number of educators increased to almost forty-five and the enrollment was 680.

The school closed in 1991.
