An elementary school opened in 1967 at Camp Kue. The school was located near the hospital, serving approximately 275 students in grades 1–3. The school consisted of twelve Quonset huts without any support facilities such as a gymnasium or auditorium. By school year 1971-72, this school was designed for special education students.
