Sidi Yahia ES History

Sidi Yahia Elementary School was located in Sidi Yahia El Gharb, Morocco, in the Kénitra province. The military facility was a US Naval Communications Station. It had work facilities, supply, living quarters and was a rest and recreation facility for the forces in Morocco.

The elementary school was a four-room schoolhouse with grades one through four. Other school ages attended school at Thomas Mach Wilhoite schools in Kénitra. Prior to the completion of the school, the elementary students attended school at Sidi Slimane.

The school was opened in 1951 and was closed in 1963 when the base was returned to the Moroccan government.
