July 1, 1925 – January 6, 2007

Paul was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 1, 1925. After graduating from Harvard University in 1947, he received a masters degree in History from Boston University.

While traveling in London in 1952, he was hired to teach for DoDDS. During his career, he taught in London, Casablanca, Morocco, Dreux and Paris France, and Brussels, Belgium. While in Dreux, he purchased a country house in the village of Blevy where he entertained friends for more than 40 years. In Paris Paul taught French Civilization, World History, World Regions, Modern European History, American History, and Advanced Placement. He sponsored Future Teachers of America.

When NATO moved from Paris to Brussels in 1967, Paul taught at Brussels American School. It was there that he really was outstanding. He was well known for his involvement with the Model United Nations and Humanities. After he retired he was asked to be a consultant for various student projects

After 43 years with DoDDS, Paul retired and moved to Palm Springs, California. He became very active in the art world, St. Paul’s in the Desert Episcopal Church, and Integrity. In recent years he was a model representing the face of a senior citizen.

His keen wit was nonpareil. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
