Bernice (Betty) Brooks

September 1, 1934 - October 1, 2005

Bernice E. “Betty” Brooks, was born in Pomona, California, attended Pomona High School, Mt. San Antonio College, and San Jose State University where she received her teaching credential.

Betty taught physical education at Los Altos High School and Pomona High School before going overseas where she taught at Kubasaki HS in Okinawa and Kaiserslautern HS in Germany.

Upon her return to the states, she reunited with the Pomona School District, teaching at Ganesha HS, Pomona HS, and Simons MS. Betty was also an active member of the Association of Pomona Teachers.

Betty was an enthusiastic and energetic teacher – she sponsored cheerleaders and pep clubs, supported theater groups, and could always be found at school activities. She will be remembered for her sunny smile, bubbly personality, and her wealth of stories.
